Getting Here

By Air

A number of international airlines fly into the capital San Jose. From there you can fly with either Sansa Air or Nature Air. Sansa Air is Government owned and has two flights per day to Palmar Sur departing at 9:30am and 9:40am arriving in Palmar Sur at 10:15am and 10:25am respectively.  The cost of the flight for each leg is $75 ($150 round trip). Nature Air is a privately run airline and has one flight departing at 9am and arriving at 10am. The cost of the flight for each leg is $90 ($180 round trip). From Palmar Sur it is a 20 minute drive to Ojochal.

By Shuttle

Easy Ride Shuttle Services can pick you up at your hotel in San Jose at 8 am and take you to Dominical or onto Ojochal. They can also return you to San Jose, directly to the Airport if desired. See their website for their full schedule.

By Car

You can rent a car at San Jose International Airport. All major car rental companies are located at the airport. Alternatively you may wish to Shuttle to Dominical and rent a car from there for the 30 minute drive to Ojochal.

The easiest route is to head west from San Jose and pass by the city of Jaco. It an easy drive down the newly completed highway to the coastal town of Dominical and then heading down the coast to Ojochal.  The trip would take approximately 3.5 hours.

Alternatively, driving from San Jose you can travel to Cartago, on to San Isidro, cross over to the coastal town of Dominical and then head down the coast to Ojochal.  The trip involves climbing over the large mountain pass nicknamed the "Calle de Muerte". The trip would take approximately 4.5 hours.
